Dental Back Office Coordinator

Responsibilities include participating in interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Dental Coordinator works collaboratively with Front and Back Office dental clinic operations and patient services to ensure that the patient flow operates efficiently and effectively. Works directly with the dentist under general and direct supervision in the treatment of clinical patients and should be knowledgeable and sufficiently skilled in all phases of dental assisting. Responsible for HIPAA Compliance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Section 1: Dental Office Coordinator Duties: Supervise Registered Dental Assistants and Dental Assistants. Collaborate with Front and Back office dental clinic staff to manage patient flow efficiently and effectively. Oversee Dental Office Infection Control, OSHA & MSDS updates, autoclave records. Coordinate Dental Repairs and clinic purchasing needs with the Purchasing & Facilities Clerk, manage inventory and supplies. Manage Waterline System, testing and records; Manage Radiation records & badges. Work with Dental Director, Business Office and Admin to coordinate audits, AAAHC preparations. Coordinate and conduct meetings for Dental Assisting staff, conduct department safety trainings and emergency drills; maintain all appropriate records of meetings, safety training, drills, etc. Organize and oversee supply purchases, equipment upgrades and maintenance operations. Maintain clean and orderly operatories and laboratory. Train and Supervise RDA/DA staff to input ADA codes in Dentrix as needed. Resolve patient issues in accordance with company policies and procedures, healthcare regulations and dental board standards. Train, develop and manage staff to meet performance standards. Manage employee relations and make certain staff have the necessary resources and support. Keep up to date on new regulations that apply to the Dental clinic; educate and train staff on new regulations making sure that CVIH Dental Clinics are always in compliance. Section 2: Dental Assisting Duties, as needed: Proficient in all phases of four handed assisting for all dental procedures and in parallel and bisecting angle radiographic methods, as well as digital radiographic techniques. Familiar with dental terminology, medications and instruments used in the above procedures. Respond to wall paging system promptly. Clean, sterilize and maintain adequate supply of instruments for treatment and spore test the autoclave weekly for biological testing. Provide preventive dental education to clinic patients and community groups under the supervision of the dentist. Perform laboratory duties, i.e. pour/trim models, etc. Scan Lab Slips and Invoices. Take blood pressures on all patients and give the patient post-extraction instructions. Communicate and with front desk to schedule patients for referrals; enter referrals into RPMS. Expand duties to the full extent of the law. Section 3: Other Perform the above duties while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude. Any other duties assigned to the employee by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH management. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Five years' experience as a Registered Dental Assistant. 3. Valid current driver's license. 4. Current CPR and x-ray license certificate. 5. Valid, current RDA license issued by the California State Board of Dental Examiners. 6. Requires an awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs; and ability at times to meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature. 7. "Safety Sensitive" positions are subject to random Drug Testing and is a requirement for continuous employment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
