Job Description:
TITLEContractorOBJECTIVEComputerWorks Technologies Inc.
,is seeking to obtain the services of a Contractor to perform support functions for the Department of Internal Services, Information Technology division(including radio, communications, network, and desktop).
This will be a minimum six-month project, with a monthly renewal thereafter.
Candidates should have knowledge of networking, communications, and experience with simulcasting in rural areas, as well as antennas and RF propagation.
SCOPE OF WORK/DUTIES
Install, modify, configure, and move personal computer hardware, VoIP phones, and software countywide.
Assist in site preparation and ensuring that power, cabling, and communication requirements have been met prior to equipment installation.
Troubleshoot/diagnose and resolve personal computer problems by testing hardware, software, network connections, resolve coverage of simulated frequencies and the coverage area, and consulting with various other IT sources.
Attend meetings and serve as a member of project teams and committees as required.
Work with local area network (LAN) subnetting for Radio over IP, as well as wiring to patch in PC, phones, and printers.
Work with Windows 7/10, clients, and TCP/IP technology.
Receive, unload, and asset tag equipment for inventory purposes.
Knowledgeable and experienced with simulcasting in rural flat land and mountainous regions.
Knowledgeable and experienced with antennas and RF propagationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/skilled in personal computer hardware, software, networks, and client/server concepts used by Fresno County (Windows 7/10 and Cisco/Alcatel/Nokia networking hardware).
Knowledge of computer and network system operations, capabilities, and limitations.
Knowledge of telecommunications/Internet protocols.
Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
Ability to document technical operating procedures.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills, initiative, good judgment, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Good command of the English language in both oral and written communications.
Ability to maintain awareness of current computer and network technologies.
Ability to travel independently throughout Fresno County to install hardware and software, resolve trouble calls, and meet with other County or vendor staff.
Knowledge/skilled in Motorola GTR8000 transmitters and GPW receivers for simulcasting.
Knowledge of antenna systems for simulcasting coverage.
Knowledge of filtering equipment and use in simulcasting.
Knowledge/skilled in GPS timing systems for simulcasting.
Other Requirements:
Valid California drivers license.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted as needed
