Job Description:
MANUFACTURING TOOL AND DIE MAKER
Summary:
This position has a high-level understanding of CNC machining and tooling concepts practices and procedures.
Reporting to the Tooling Engineering Supervisor, you will share the responsibility of supporting the creation, programming, machining, construction, and implementation of tool, dies, jigs, fixtures, and special equipment required in our manufacturing operation.
You will also assume responsibility for quality repair, change overs, and preventative maintenance to all manufacturing tooling, ensuring safe and efficient operations throughout the facility.
Effective in fast-paced and highly multitasked situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, execute, and complete tasks and projects in a timely and efficient manner Excellent computer skills using latest versions of Microsoft Office, and CMMS software.
Demonstrates ability on latest version of SolidWorks/Fusion 360 or any mainstream CAD/CAM software's.
Upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, training logs, PM logs, etc.
Studies blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts and tooling.
Possess toolmaker skills with a thorough understanding of proper tool design, cutter selection, heat treating, tool fabrication and assembly.
Familiarity in the proper use of precision measuring tools with the ability to work within tight tolerances up to.
0002 Ability to operate all conventional and CNC machine tools and possess advanced manual machining skills including but not limited to contour milling, pocket boring, OD/ID turning, thread turning, precision grinding of flats and contours, etc.
Ability to efficiently program, set up, and operate all CNC machine tools (lathes, knee mills, surface grinders and VMC's with 4th and 5th axis capability) Knowledge and ability to perform sheet metal fabrication using shears, brakes, saws, and punches Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and applies the most efficient and cost effective solutions to problems.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Associate of Science in Machine Tool Technology or successful completion of Machinist or Toolmaker apprenticeship from a certified Machinist/Tool & Die Apprenticeship program.
Word, Excel, Access, Project, CAD and CAM (preferably Solidworks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, HSM works).
Knowledge of self-contained punch tools, jigs, fixtures, equipment, and processes; automated and manual assembly processes; engineering mechanics, heat transfer, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics; control system principles and equipment, and statistical process control.
Demonstrated knowledge of CNC machining methods to include all necessary shop equipment and hand tools to produce parts to meet department objectives.
LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Basic English language skills Excellent verbal/written/listening communication and presentation skills.
Must write clearly and concisely.
Must use courtesy and tact with internal and external customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in college-level Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry REASONING ABILITY:

Consistent daily attendance required to ensure timely processing of weekly payroll.
Occasional lifting of heavy parts, fixtures, and tools in excess of 50lbs.

Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
Ability to travel to PGT family of brands locations as needed.
